When I signed up for the Wildrose duathlon I was not sure how I would do. I have been dealing with an injury that has me unable to run. I decided to try a walk, trainer ride, walk and give myself permission to learn. I was excited and scared  on the day I selected to race  and I started out very excited and realize how much I missed racing!

At the end I was overjoyed with how I did. I executed my walk and my trainer ride to the best of my ability. Most importantly I realized what I CAN do and will CONTINUE to do in the future. The Wild Rose Duathlon gave me the safe place to do this and the support was amazing.

Thank you to the Wild Rose Team!

The Wild Rose Duathlon is the first race I have done in 5 years. After a series of repetitive stress injuries, I needed to take a “tri-atus”. In the process of rebuilding my body I reignited my love of resistance training. This mom loves to lift, fitness competitions and CrossFit.

2020 sadly resulted in many fitness events being cancelled or postponed to 2021. The Wild Rose Duathlon provided an opportunity for this busy mom to get back to competing...against herself!

Thank you Tri It and RnR events for creating a beautiful space for the well-seasoned, new to multi-sport and those multi-sport alumnae to stay active and have fun during this pandemic.

Not gonna lie, virtual racing is the best thing ever for this busy working mom!!! Still get the excitement of the race, awesome race peeps and community, conveniently race when you can...and of course the swag.

Today I completed the Women’s Wild Rose Virtual Duathlon 2.5k run/20k bike/5k run in just under 2 hours.

After dropping off my vehicle for service, I decided to complete the first leg of the race and then found out vehicle would take longer than expected. So I ran home, grabbed my bike and toured Okotoks pathways while waiting and finished off with another run!

Thanks RnR Premier Events!
